Five Coffee Shops to Visit in St. Charles, MO

J and I had a longstanding tradition of visiting a coffee shop every Saturday morning. When kids came along, that became a littler harder to do, but we still really enjoy grabbing a coffee from one of our favorite coffee shops in our community. Here's a list of our favorite places to visit for a delicious latte in St. Charles.

My go-to! A basic Brown Sugar Vanilla Latte will treat you right, but everything I’ve tried is so good. Just all around an amazing coffee shop, nestled in the heart of historic St. Charles in an old brake shop or in the sweetest little area of Cottleville, this just makes my heart happy to see a old, empty buildings revived. The coffee is consistently good. I know no matter what I order, or ask the barista to surprise me with, I will be happy! They also have amazing breakfast sandwiches on sourdough biscuits and a huge avocado toast that should be mentioned. If we’re not in the coffee mood, which is rarely, every juice we’ve ever tried from there has been so good, too. I love the one with blue springula or Green Goddess.

It honestly just feels like home. I love ordering the Honey Oatmilk Latte! The people, both employees and customers alike, are so friendly. Sometimes lattes can be hit or miss, but the pour overs are pretty spot on consistently. I love this place for a low key, relaxing Saturday morning where most of Frenchtown does too.

Picasso’s
1650 Beale St #155, St Charles, MO 63303

The St. Charles OG! I think we've been visiting long enough to have tried one of everything on their menu, but the Mona’s Snickers Mocha will always be my favorite. The have live music nights frequently and this was one of my favorite places to do homework when I was in college and it’s still one of my favorites to take the boys to.

Sucrose

Their coffee is lovely. The Earl Grey Latte is five stars. Hot chocolate is 10/10. But the bakery. THE BAKERY. OMG! I cannot tell you how delicious everything is. Quiche. Yes, please. Macarons. Yes, I’ll take four. Fruit tart. How could I not? Seriously, so good! You can’t go wrong with anything you order here. Side note, I love that they are a CSA location!

Long Row Lavender
26549 S Stracks Church Rd, Wright City, MO 63390

This I kind of a stretch since it’s technically in Wright City, but I say worth the drive on a nice day. Especially if lavender flavored things are your thing. Their menu is lavender infused in just about everything. Lavender Latte is good though and the barn with the gorgeous flowers and rows of lavender is calm, inviting, and just worth the drive to soak it all in.
