The forecast is showing rain all week so we went looking for someplace indoors and free to get us out of the house this week. We spent the morning exploring at Powder Valley Nature Center! 🌳🐟🦝
11715 Cragwold Rd, Kirkwood, MO 63122
🌳 They open at 8 am which was perfect for our early risers. It was not busy at all when we got there at 9 am. We spent about an hour and a half here but you could spend much longer here by reading through all of the information or doing anything outside.
🦉 There’s several things to see, but the kids’ corner was our favorite! We loved putting on a puppet show with the various puppets and feeling all the furs.
🌳 There’s several bird feeders outside and a lovely viewing area with seating to watch the birds. There’s little cards nearby with information about each bird you might see.
🦝 It’s super easy to navigate with a double stroller and they have an elevator to get to the lower level.
🐟 There’s multiple aquariums throughout the building to view turtles, fish, salamanders and even some snakes.
🌳 While there are some longer dirt trails, we did the 1/3 mile paved path. It had a cute story about what animals did each month of the year to read along the way. There were several benches if we needed to stop and take a break, too. We saw all types of birds and even a tiny chipmunk! 🐿️
Have you ever been to Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center? Would you go?!
