Today we visited Spencer Creek Park, a busy little playground in the middle of a nearby neighborhood. While we enjoyed the playground, the paved walking trail and creek access was my favorite part!

This playground is just a little bit of a walk across a bridge over Spencer Creek. There’s musical elements, multiple swings, a covered area with sensory games, a playground for smaller children and two towering playgrounds connected by a climbing rope feature, we named “the Christmas tree”. There’s lots of areas to play kickball or soccer, like some kids were playing. While bathrooms are a little bit a way, there were plenty of tables in a pavilion right next to the playground.

The paved trail along the creek spreads almost 8 miles - from McClay to Mexico Road. We walked about 1/2 mile of it today, but we’ll come back and walk more of it another day! The creek access was not paved, but was easy to walk down the rock bed. There was much to see and explore. When we come back, we’ll bring proper clothing to play in the creek!
