Fort Worth Stockyard Station | Things to do in DFW with Kids

If you've never been deep in the heart of Texas and are wanting to see all things stereotypical Texan, then the Fort Worth Stockyards are the place for you!

Cattle drives. Longhorns. Leathergoods. Cowboy Boots. & Gunfights.

Fort Worth Stockyards are a fun place to visit with our two buckaroos. While J and I have been a few times, this was our first time taking the boys and they LOVED it.

The cattle drive is the BIG event you want to make sure you're there in time for - where they parade longhorns, cattle, cowboys and cowgirls the drive twice a day. Rhett was mesmerized by this experience to see huge longhorns up close.

Another super fun and free "show" is the Old West Gunfight show that happens just a little bit after the cattle drive.

There's several little shops and restaurants around Stockyard Station. They've added a bunch more we were surprised and excited to visit when we were there the last time. In the "old west" area, they do have lots of cobblestone and uneven brick that was a little harder to navigate in the double stroller, but nothing too bad! I would probably recommend baby wearing or using a small umbrella stroller to make sure you fit in the tighter spaces of some smaller stores.

While you can make a whole day of Stockyard Station, but we only stayed a few hours and our boys were content with what all we saw and did.
