This is our second year going to Liberty Apple Orchard and every year we have a great apple selection to pick from! If you want to go somewhere that supports a family small business without a field pass, then this is the place for you.
Liberty Apple Orchard doesn't have a huge children's area- actually there is not one at all. They have a pony buggy to sit on and an old one room school house to walk through. This could be a negative for many people, but I love that the focus is on the apples and their farmer has always been out to educate and answer any questions we have.... which, with toddlers we have a lot apparently.
We've gotten there in the morning both times and the parking was simple and a short walk to the tent to get a bag for collecting apples. You walk down a paved path to the type of apple you want then pick and snack on apples until your heart is content. We love picking an apple of each variety and tasting them! It makes for a fun comparing and picking our favorites.
Lastly, you check out through their small store. They have some really delicious apple cider donuts to munch on, too! And apple cider slushies! This year, they had someone giving an apple cider demonstration and a bee keeper there! This made it a really great learning experience!
What I love about going here is that the focus is all on the apples. It doesn't cost an extra amount to do anything and I'm not walking out of a fun family event having spent hundreds of dollars. We love apple picking in Edwardsville, IL at Liberty Apple Orchard.
Have you ever been here to pick apples? Would you go here?
