Cleaning Routine for Thursday

Today is Thursday, which means in my cleaning rhythm, I’m focusing on our dining room and kitchen!

These areas are often considered the heart of the home. It's a place where meals are prepared, conversations are had, and memories are made. Today, I'll walk through my kitchen and dining room checklist. Before I begin, I gather all the necessary cleaning supplies. Here's a checklist to help you get started: 1. Thieves Multi-surface cleaner 2. Microfiber cloths or paper towels: Ideal for wiping surfaces without leaving lint or streaks. 3. Baking soda and vinegar: Great for tackling tough stains and odors. 4. Scrub brushes, pan scraper, razor blade: Different sizes for various cleaning tasks. 5. Mop and bucket of warm water with Dr. Bronner's castile soap

Start by clearing the kitchen countertops of any clutter. Put away dishes, utensils, and appliances that are not in use. This step will make it easier to clean and prevent the spread of dirt and crumbs. Empty the sink of any dishes, and if possible, remove any sink accessories such as a cutting board or drying rack. Then, I wipe down countertops and backsplash using Thieves multi-surface cleaner. Next, clean the exterior of your appliances, including the refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and oven. Here's my least favorite part: cleaning in the interior of the appliances. I don't do these every week, but more like as needed. - Refrigerator: Remove expired items, wipe down shelves and drawers, and clean the door gaskets. - Dishwasher: Check and clean the filter, wipe down the interior, and run a cycle with a dishwasher cleaner if needed. - Microwave: Clean the interior, including the turntable, and wipe down the exterior. - Oven and Stove: I use baking soda followed by vinegar to clean the inside of the oven. If there's things really stuck, I'll use a razor blade to scrape off the gunk. Next, I wipe down all of the chairs in the dining room where sticky fingers happen to get them dirty frequently.

Lastly, I sweep and vacuum the floors to remove crumbs and debris, then, mop the floor using Dr. Bronner's.

I sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee in my freshly cleaned kitchen... before one of the children ask for a snack!

We love inviting people over for meals, so we pray that we would find joy in being hospitable, that we break bread in our home we would have glad and sincere hearts, enjoying the favor of all people and that through our meals, people are saved and our walks with Christ would be strengthened
