While driving to Dallas, I listened to the audiobook of Ten Words to Live By: Delighting in and Doing What God Commands. Honestly, before reading this book I thought I was doing great about following the ten commandments. I mean I don't carve idols, I'm not murdering, I honor my parents, I don't commit adultery... like I'm doing really great at keeping these laws.
Unfortunately, or more like fortunately for my soul's sake, Jen Wilkin walks through a deeper explanation of each of the covenants. I might not be murdering, but am I devaluing a person in my anger? I might not be cussing and taking God's name in vein, but do I apply His name on things that are not as holy as He is. Yikes. I try to take a nap on Sunday, but do I really Sabbath?
Some eye opening things that served as a good reminder to reevaluate my life. I loved that end of every chapter she had reflection questions. I wasn't allowed to just 'move on' and not actually apply the message she just delivered.
