Recently, our sweet Nora has decided that she wants a dessert, but also wants Brina's green beans. Every time she's over, she'll walk to the fridge and look for green beans. It makes me laugh that I'll put so much energy into crafting a delicious dessert, but according to Nora, my prized dish is really these green beans.
Zesty Green Beans
3 T butter
2 handfuls frozen green beans
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce (the Aldi one with the green cap)
2 T Worcestershire sauce
1-1/2 tsp garlic powder
Melt the 3 tablespoons of butter in a sauté pan. Add the remaining ingredients into the pan and cook about 5-8 minutes until the beans turn bright green, stirring occasionally.
Let them come to a rapid boil.
Then, cover them and turn the heat down to medium low and cook about 10-15 more minutes.
