Will break for fire truck playgrounds!
Mooney Park in University City has great options to play for a small, community park.
This playground has the super cool firetruck, with steering wheels and slides, but also a whole other playground on the opposite side. There's infant swings and spinning chairs, a hanging merry go round and two saucer swings, too!
On the other playground, there's a few climbing options, like stairs and or a rock wall, that lead to more slides. The tunnel underneath was a big hit!
While the playground is shaded, seating is limited to two benches on opposite sides of the playgrounds. The layout of this playground is a little challenging because when sitting on the bench, you can't see the over the firetruck set. A group of moms were also visiting when we played here and they had brought quilts to sit in the middle of the playground so eyes could be on all areas- they clearly had been here before! Some parts of the playground, like the "big kid" swings, are spread out from the rest of the playground. Make sure you go to the bathroom before you visit, as we did not see any restrooms.
While there's some things that make this not my favorite playground to visit, it's still a nice place to burn some energy off in a shaded area!
Have you played here? Would you play here? Let me know in the comments!
