I really wanted to love this park so much! After all, if you’ve seen any posts in moms groups in St. Louis about places to visit, this park is always included, but there were some things I didn’t care for.
For starters, the playground here isn’t huge. There’s nothing wrong with a smaller playground, but this is a popular park so it was packed! That made it really difficult to keep an eye on your kids when there’s so many in a small place and adults all over place. I took these pictures right before we left, around noon, when most people had also left to eat lunch. The bathrooms are a bit away from the playground, but still very accessible.
However, on the flip side the barn and all the animals is amazing!! There’s horses and cows in the barns. Miniature horses and donkeys, goats, pigs, sheep & lamb, chickens and a turkey, and probably a few more that I’m missing. The cool part of it all is that you can feed them and that they will come close to the fence for you to pet, too.
There’s also a large pond with several people there fishing! Pathways are throughout the park, with picnic tables in shady spots a little away from all the action. From the farm, playground, ponds, walking trail, several pavilions, there is so much to see and do, just hopefully you catch it on a day where it’s not super busy.
Have you played here? Would you play here!
We played here for a playdate with some of our other friends. If you're interested in joining us for a playdate another time, be sure to join our Facebook group - St. Charles / St. Louis Playgrounds & Playdates!
