This was the hardest book to get through. Thankfully there was an audiobook or I would not have even attempted at finishing.
I'm still not sure what the point of this book was. She made friends with her neighbors in a "group of misfits" and encourages you to also make friends. The last half of the book was basically a white woman's journal entry on social justice issues in America since 2020. There were maybe 5 good bullet point suggestions of how to cultivate real friendships, but it could have easily been a blogpost. I feel like I wasted my time.
This book is also under the Christian Living genre and not one time did she mention scripture, Jesus, or anything related to church (except when they started going on vacations during Easter). She did quote an agnostic person, but this book was not at all what I was expecting nor did it live up to the title.
