Almond Amaretto Pound Cake

There's a delicious coffee and pastry shop here in St. Charles, MO called Sucrose that I love visiting when I'm feeling really uninspired. Last spring I was having a hard time making a decision of what tasty treat I wanted when the gal behind the counter recommended I try an almond amaretto cake. It melted in my mouth - this sweet and kind of nutty flavor was so delicious. In fact, I went back for another later that week.

That was enough to get me on the almond amaretto dessert train! Mix that sweet flavor of amaretto and my love for a good pound cake, I found this recipe in the throes of Pinterest.

This recipe was super easy to follow and she gave lots of tips and tricks in case something isn't looking right! While she uses a fancier Disaronno almond liqueur, I just used Doc Well's Amaretto ($6) that I found at our local Total Wine store... it still tasted great!

Enjoy!
